Since these coffee trees have to be transplanted across the island of Jamaica, the production is relatively low. It is not being grown as abundantly as other coffee varieties which changes the demand-supply realm.
Quality Over Quantity
As it takes a longer time for the production of this coffee, it’s the quality that the producers focus on. Therefore, the better the quality, the higher will be the cost. At the end of the day, it is all about the quality of the product you are paying for.
Taste
Jamaica coffee has a mild and neat taste with a little bit of bitterness. It has an aroma resembling the sweet florals and herbs. This uniqueness of taste makes this coffee go high on the cost which appears reasonable if you become fond of it.
Demand
This coffee’s demand is more than its supply due to its niche location of cultivation. When demand is higher than its supply, the product automatically becomes expensive.
Location
Jamaica has a very tropical climate with more sunshine and water so that the coffee beans bloom to their fullest. You don’t find such a climate very often, so that is why Blue Mountain of Jamaica is a delicacy.
